Dawson on dusting off his boots, sore muscles and 8 games in 13 days

With less than three weeks to go before the Over-50s Cricket World Cup kicks off in Cape Town, excitement is building for what should be brilliant tournament which brings together 192 of the best veteran cricketers in the world.

The South African side is packed with former international stars like captain Dave Callaghan, Henry Williams, Louis Koen and Pieter Strydom.

Another ex-Protea is swing bowler Alan Dawson who, along with South African Steering Committee member Kevin Milne, chatted to Neil Manthorp at Wednesday's T20 international between South Africa and Australia at Newlands.

Dawson admits he never expected to be playing again, especially eight matches in 13 days, but says he is excited at the prospect of lacing up his boots for his country again.
