The Veterans Cricket Association of South Africa have named South Africa's preliminary squad for next year's Over-60 World Cup in Chennai, India.
"The Veterans Cricket Association of South Africa (VCASA) is proud to announce an initial twelve man squad of Over-60s players who will represent South Africa at the second Over60s World Cup in Chennai, India from 16 February – 04 March 2024," said the VCASA.
"The initial squad was selected after the VCASA triangular tournament which took place at the Wanderers Cricket Club recently. The tournament was won by the Rest of the World team.
"The team includes seven players who represented VCASA at the inaugural Over-60s World Cup in Australia in 2022. Trevor Poole was named player of the tournament and was nominated for the 2022/23 CSA veteran cricketer of the year.
"Four more players will be added to the squad at the end of November. A captain and vice-captain will be announced once the full 16-man squad has been selected."
